  • Amount of Zoom in GLOBAL MAP

Can I ask another question? Is it possible to see the amount of zoom (at least approximately) of current view in the Global Map? The reason is simple. While preparing a tile to convert it would be nice to be able to see, whether the particular area is photographed by the sattelites (covered by the images) in the proper zoom and make a decision whether to make the tile or wait for better resolution images.

I hope I am asking in a clear way. :-)

The accurate way to find the zoom level in google maps is to :
    - go to the place you want
    - zoom in step by step slowly (to let the images enough time to load) until it is good enough for you
    - save the page (full page html)
    - go to the new folder created with the same name as your saved page
    - look for a bunch of files with strange and long names (see image)
    - the number after z= is your zoom level

For your information, this is the format used in g2xpl to find the images. In the lines you will also see other interesting informations like v=, the current images version. This could help to fix the Service parameter in g2xpl.ini.
