Bonjour
We have a new beta update (10.03.4) coming out in the next 24 hours. Let's see if this issue is fixed in the update.
Below is a form letter going to all write-in customers with some tips to solve issues or optimize X-Plane 10 demos and disk set performance now or in the future. We are planning to release a beta 4 for X-Plane 10.03 in the next few days and you should try it to see if frame rates improve or any issues you may be having are solved. (Note: The X-Plane 10 Demo incorporates the latest bug fixes through the current beta.)
You are receiving this form letter because it either directly addresses your question(s), or gives you some things to check on, and/or the log.txt file found in the main X-Plane folder was not attached. (We must have the log.txt file for any analysis we undertake to solve issues.)
Please continue to run X-Plane 10 trying each new beta release and report on any issues that are still present or new issues with the latest beta. Please follow the process detailed in the last paragraph to provide us with enough data to make a reasonable analysis of the situation.
There are a number of solvable issues with X-Plane 10 beta installs at this time:
Wrong installer being used with disk sets
Out of date video driver
Video subsystem that is inadequate (chipset graphics- Update graphics)
Not installing the X-Plane folder to the Desktop.
Some high end nVidia drivers have bugs and reverting to an earlier version solves
Too many rendering options invoked causing too high a load on older video cards
Third party aircraft and add-ins (Please contact developers if problems)
An updated installer is now available and may be accessed in the link below to install X-Plane 10 from disks rather than using the installer found on dvd 1. (This is now required for Mac, Windows, and Linux!)

On the label of your X-Plane 10 disk set it may say:
Download the full manual:
It should be http://www.x-plane.com/files/manuals...top_manual.pdf
We expect new beta releases for X-Plane 10 fairly often over the next month and you should always use the latest updater from x-plane.com.
Be sure the X-Plane 10 Demo, all Demo Installers, and Demo logs are deleted from your system prior to installing X-Plane 10 from the disks.
To update your X-Plane10 installed from disks always download the latest updater from x-plane.com to insure the latest updater is used....and, make sure you delete old updaters to reduce any possible confusion. Each time a new update for X-Plane 10 comes out update to that version as we prefer to support the newest version/beta of X-Plane 10.
Many graphics issues can be avoided by always having the latest video card driver from either nVidia or ATI installed in your Windows or Linux system. And, make sure you are using a video subsystem that has a dedicated video processor with at least 128 mb of dedicated vram. Graphics accelerators that share the main processor are inadequate for running a realistic X-Plane 10 simulation.
For tips on how to improve frame rates and possibly improve load times when going to different airports, see tips in the following link: Tips for better frame rates Pt #1 | X-Plane Developer Blog

Here is some discussion about ATC (new in X-Plane 10):

To solve a corruption problem you can try removing all the files within the main X-Plane folder>Output>Preferences subfolder. Don't delete these files, but create a folder on the Desktop and move them into that folder (Name the folder something like "Saved Prefs" for helping us debug if necessary.).You will then need to recalibrate flight controls/etc since this returns X-Plane to defaults.
If you still have problems after trying these tips please do the following:
1. Send us a Bug report detailing aircraft being flown, situation happening when the problem occurred, steps taken to try to remedy, screen shots of problem, etc.
2. Attach to the email the log.txt file and crash log.txt file found in the main X-Plane folder after exiting or closing down X-Plane. For Macs attach the Apple Crash Report also.
3. Include any screen shots which show the problem if possible.
4. Remember those Preferences files you saved earlier? Yes, please include in the attachments each of those .prf files as well.
REMEMBER: Always, always attach at least the log.txt file found in the main X-Plane folder with each email to us if you have installed the demo or X-Plane 10 from the disks.
