  • Difference X-plane, X-plane professional

Re: [x-plane-chat] Re: Finding the airport

Thanks for writing, Duane. Good question.

The most important difference is the piece of paper that the FAA provides that allows pilots to log the time. Aside from that, it's the aircraft files that have been written by Austin, the author of X-Plane. These aircraft have special instrument panel arrangements that display only the panel view on one monitor and the exterior view on one or more extra monitors. Other than that, the FAA Certified version is pretty much the same as the retail version, except that the FAA made us remove things you have - like the ability to extinguish forest fires,
supersonic and hypersonic flight modeling, Mars flight dynamics, etc.

Need anything else? Please let me know and I'll be happy to try and
            help.

            Thanks,

            Randy Witt
